Worth knowing

  • The welcome screen and the intro text above the first question carry example turnaround times, policies and promises. Rewrite them as yours before you publish — they are the part respondents take literally.
  • The total is a Calculated value block. Its formula reads the questions above it by reference.
  • A quote shown before someone submits is a quote they can react to. Keep it visible.

How to use this template

  1. Open it as a draft

Press "Use this template" and it lands in your workspace as an editable form with all 4 questions already in it. No card, and nothing is published until you say so.

  2. Cut what you do not need

Every question you remove is one fewer reason to abandon the form. It takes about 1 minutes to fill in as it stands, and that is the number worth protecting.

  3. Add from the question bank

Pick what you are missing from the questions below. Drag any of them in, change the wording, and use conditional logic so people only see the ones that apply to them.

  4. Share it, or put it on your own site

Publish to get a link, or embed it in a page you already have. Answers arrive in your dashboard, and you can send them on to anywhere else with a webhook or an integration.

32 quote calculator form questions to choose from

A quote calculator answers the question every pricing page gets asked privately: what would this cost me. Giving the number immediately filters out the people who were never going to buy, and converts the ones who were.

Collect only the inputs that change the figure. Everything else belongs after the price is shown.

Inputs that drive the price

  • What do you need? (Pick the service)
  • How many units, hours or items?
  • What size or area are we talking about?
  • Which tier or specification?
  • How urgently do you need it?
  • Where is it going?
  • Is it a one-off or recurring?
  • How many locations or sites?

Add-ons and modifiers

  • Do you need installation?
  • Do you need delivery?
  • Do you need it outside normal hours?
  • Do you want extended support or warranty?
  • Do you need training included?
  • Are there access restrictions?
  • Do you have an existing setup to work around?
  • Do you qualify for any discount? (Charity, education, volume)

Showing the number

  • Show a single figure, or a range?
  • Show the breakdown by line?
  • Show what is included and what is not?
  • Show monthly as well as total?
  • Say clearly that it is an estimate, not a quote?
  • Say what would change it?
  • Show how it compares to the alternative?
  • Offer to email the figure?

After the price

  • What is your name?
  • What is your email address?
  • Would you like this emailed to you as a PDF?
  • Would you like to speak to someone about it?
  • Is this within the budget you had in mind?
  • If not, what were you expecting?
  • When would you want to go ahead?
  • Would you like to pay a deposit now?

Quote Calculator form questions, answered

How do I build a price calculator form?
Add number and choice questions for the inputs, then a calculation that multiplies and adds them into a variable. The running figure can show live as somebody answers, with no code and no spreadsheet behind it.
Should I show prices before asking for contact details?
Yes. Holding the number hostage behind an email form is the fastest way to lose the person who was ready to buy. Show it, then ask if they would like it sent to them.
Can a calculator take payment at the end?
Yes. A payment block can charge the amount the calculator worked out, so somebody can get a price and pay a deposit in the same form.
What if my pricing is too complicated for a calculator?
Build the calculator for the eighty percent of cases that are simple and route the rest to a quote request. A figure for most people beats 'contact us' for everyone.
Is this quote calculator form template free?
Yes. Use it, publish it and collect answers on the free plan with no card. Paid plans add things like payments, scheduling, removing our badge and your own domain, but none of them are needed to run this form.
Do I need an account to use it?
You need one to edit and publish, because the form has to live somewhere and the answers have to come back to you. Signing up takes about a minute and does not ask for a card. The people filling your form in never need an account.
Can I change the questions?
All of them. The template is a starting point, not a fixed form: add, remove, reword and reorder anything, change the look, and use logic so people only see the questions that apply to them.
Can I put it on my own website?
Yes. Embed it in a page you already have, or share the link. On a paid plan you can serve it from your own domain so the address says your name rather than ours.
Where do the answers go?
Into your dashboard, where you can read, search and export them as CSV. You can also have each response emailed to you, pushed to another tool with a webhook, or sent to a connected integration.
How long does this form take to fill in?
About 1 minutes as it stands, across 4 questions. Every question you cut brings that down, and shorter forms get finished more often.
