Terms of Service

The agreement between you and CrispForms. Written to be read.

Last updated

1. Agreement

By creating a CrispForms account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you’re agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old. Keep your login credentials secure — you’re responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it’s been compromised.

One person or organisation per account. Don’t share a single account across a team when what you want is a workspace with members.

3. Your content is yours

You own your forms and the responses you collect. We claim no ownership over them.

You grant us the limited licence needed to actually run the service — to store your content, display it to your respondents, back it up, and send it to the integrations you connect. That licence exists only to operate CrispForms and ends when you delete the content.

We do not use your form content or your respondents’ answers to train machine-learning models. If you turn on AI response summaries, that content is sent to our AI provider solely to generate your summary and is not used for training.

4. What you must not do

Don’t use CrispForms to:

  • Break the law, or collect data you have no lawful basis to collect
  • Phish, impersonate a person or organisation, or harvest credentials or payment details under false pretences
  • Distribute malware, or attack or probe our systems without consent
  • Send unsolicited bulk email, or use our sending domains for spam
  • Collect payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or health records through a plain form field. We are not a PCI or HIPAA environment and will not pretend otherwise.
  • Publish content that is harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative
  • Resell the service as your own, or scrape it in bulk

Phishing is the one we act on fastest. A form builder on a custom domain is attractive infrastructure for it, and we take forms down without warning when we find it.

5. Fair use on the free plan

The free plan is genuinely free and genuinely useful, and it has stated limits so that “unlimited” means something honest. Current limits are published on our pricing page.

If you exceed your monthly response limit, we do not block your form. Your respondents can keep submitting; the additional responses are held and become available when you upgrade. We apply a ceiling at twice the limit to prevent abuse. We would rather email you than break something a real person is trying to fill in.

6. Paid plans

Pro costs $20 per month or $200 per year, per workspace, in US dollars. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; the plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

Refunds: email us within 30 days of a charge and we’ll refund it. No interrogation.

If a payment fails, we’ll retry and email you. If it stays unpaid, the workspace returns to the free plan: forms keep working, our branding comes back, custom domains stop resolving. We do not delete your data because a payment failed.

We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email. A price change never applies to a period you’ve already paid for.

7. Availability

We work hard to keep CrispForms up, and publish incidents on our status page. We do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee on these standard terms.

We’ll give notice of planned maintenance that we expect to be disruptive.

8. Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Deletion removes your forms and responses after a 30-day grace period, after which we cannot recover them.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches section 4. Where the breach isn’t severe or ongoing, we’ll tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it first.

If we ever discontinue CrispForms, we’ll give at least 90 days’ notice and provide a way to export everything.

9. Warranties and liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) 100 US dollars. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we’ll email account holders at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use CrispForms after a change takes effect means you accept it.
