Fair Use Policy

What we mean by unlimited, and what happens at the edge of it.

Last updated

The short version

Pro is sold as unlimited responses, and for very nearly everyone it simply is. The threshold below exists so that one workspace sending millions of submissions cannot degrade the service for everybody else — not to claw back what you paid for.

The number

Fair use on Pro is 50,000 submissions per month, per workspace. Above that we will get in touch about an Enterprise plan, which is priced on what you actually need rather than from a list.

We publish this number rather than leaving “unlimited” undefined. If you are anywhere near it, you should know before you build on us, not afterwards.

What happens when you cross it

Nothing abrupt, and nothing that costs you a response:

  • Your forms keep working. Submissions past the threshold are still accepted and still stored. We do not reject a respondent because of a conversation we need to have with you.
  • We email you rather than throttling quietly, and we will tell you what we are seeing.
  • We agree a plan. Enterprise is a custom quotation — volume, support and any terms your procurement people need.

There is a hard ceiling well above the threshold to stop outright abuse — a script pointed at a form, not a business having a good month. We have never applied it to a real customer.

The free plan

The free plan is not unlimited and is not described as such: it takes 1,000 submissions a month per workspace, and the pricing page says so plainly. Over-limit responses there are still accepted and stored; they are held until you upgrade rather than thrown away.

What isn’t fair use

Separately from volume, we will act on anything that damages the service or the people using it — sending submissions from a script rather than from respondents, reselling access to the platform, or using forms for phishing or fraud. That is covered by the Terms, and it has nothing to do with how many genuine responses you collect.

Changes

If we change the threshold we will say so here and give at least 30 days’ notice by email to anyone it affects. Questions about volume are welcome before you commit, not after — write to support@crispforms.com.
